Admission

Admission Procedure

Below is a checklist of the materials needed to complete the application process. Forms can be downloaded  or obtained from the City College Milwaukee admissions office.

 

• Student Checklist for Associate of Arts in Urban Studies & Certificate in Bible
(keep this for your records)

 

• Student Checklist for Diploma in Urban Ministry (keep this for your records)

Application - Mail this to City College

• $25 Application Fee (non-refundable) - Payable to and mailed to City College Milwaukee.

•  Personal Testimony - Write a 1-2 pages testimony describing your Christian experience and why you want to attend City College Milwaukee. Mail this to City College Milwaukee. Personal Testimony must be typed and doublespaced.

Application for Dorm Residency - Mail this to City College Milwaukee with a $100 room deposit if you are interested in living on campus.

Transcript Request Form(s) - Send to all colleges you have attended. If you have attended college previously, there is no need to include a high school transcript. If applicant did not finish high school, proof of GED or a recognized home school diploma is required.

• Pastor Reference Form - Ask your pastor or a fellow minister to fill out this form and mail it to the school. It must come in a sealed envelope and directly from your pastor!

General Reference Form - Ask a friend or co-worker (not family) to fill out this form and mail it to the school. It must come in a sealed envelope and directly from your reference!

• Call to schedule an Admission Interview.

• Take the English placement exam.

Admission Deadlines


Students may begin taking classes in the fall, spring, or summer semesters. The admission paper work must be completed at least one month prior to the start of the semester the student wishes to begin taking classes. If the paper work is not completed, the student may enroll for classes as a provisional student and complete the paper work during the first semester.

English Requirement


Before registration, incoming students are required to taken an English test and write a placement essay. Those students needing remedial work are required to complete English Foundations before enrolling in Composition 1. This course is offered in August each year.


Visiting Students


Students who are undecided about the program they would like to pursue may enroll as a visiting student for one semester. People who just want to take classes and have no desire to complete a degree program, may continue to register for classes as a visiting student. Those wanting to complete a degree or diploma program should complete the admission process and declare their program before progressing beyond 30 credits.
