Programs of studyThis two-year degree with an emphasis in urban ministries is built upon an integrated curriculum designed to engage the student with the social and spiritual needs of the urban community. The curriculum provides a theological and practical foundation for developing leaders for the urban community. This degree lays an educational foundation for those who plan to further their education and obtain a bachelors degree. Students who complete this degree also meet the educational requirements for licensure with the Assemblies of GodThis program of study is specifically designed to help students meet the course requirements for ministerial credentialing with the Assemblies of God. This includes the requirements for certification, licensing and a start toward ordination. The remaining courses can be taken from a four-year Bible college, the Carlson Institute, or Global University. City College Milwaukee is willing to tailor some of the assignments and course requirements to work with independent local churches and denominations to help meet their specific credentialing requirements. Students take these courses for college credit, but completion of this program does not lead to a college degree. Students will need to take additional courses to meet the requirements for ordination with the Assemblies of God or for specialized licensing. Students who will graduate in the spring semester should contact the District Office of the Wisconsin/Northern Michigan District and fill out the application. Students do not need to have a confirmed place of full-time ministry at that time, but must secure such a position before the District will actually grant the license. Students completing the Associate of Arts in Urban Studies at City College Milwaukee meet the educational criteria established by the General Presbytery for licensing with the Assemblies of God . Click here to view a list of specific course requirements of the General Presbytery and the approved courses offered at City College Milwaukee for satisfying these requirements. All course work must be completed with college credit in order to meet requirements.
