City College Milwaukee is a two-year Christian College that integrates academic excellence with urban ministry experience. The College offers educational and professional opportunities in leadership development and theological training. We are a private, coeducational, residential and non-residential college.

Teaching students to think clearly, write distinctively, and communicate the Gospel effectively are among the academic goals of the College. We are committed to the work of reconciliation, revitalization, and transformation through leadership development for the urban community.

Our faculty bring their expertise both as educators and as practitioners. Compassion for the hurting poor within our nation's cities and the major cities of the world is a marked distinction of City College.

Mission statement

The mission of City College is to prepare emerging leaders for biblical service in the urban community. This involves examining the Christian faith, forming a biblical theology and Christian worldview, and engaging contemporary culture with the message and claims of the Gospel.

7.jpgUrban focus

Our urban setting expresses our commitment to central city transformation. City College is an integral part of City on a Hill, a dynamic urban ministry center in downtown Milwaukee. Our location is directly linked with our mission to prepare emerging leaders for service in our nation's cities.  The many social challenges, as well as the positive resources of urban living, provide a dynamic educational experience.  Our students are actively involved in field ministry on the City on a Hill campus and with many of City on a Hill's urban ministry partners in the central city.

Cultural diversity

Our urban focus mandates a concern for people of all ethnicities, for the oppressed, and for the poor. We cannot be concerned about people on the other side of the world and neglect those who are in physical and spiritual need here in our own nation. Diverse ethnic communities make up the cities of America and City College desires to have students from many different cultural backgrounds. We are committed to creating and maintaining an environment that welcomes and values people from various ethnic and racial backgrounds. We believe that this allows us to enrich our entire campus community and effectively serve all our constituencies. Our goal is to be a community of believers who are increasingly engaged in racial reconciliation.

Spiritual growth

City College Milwaukee is committed to encouraging our students in the area of spiritual growth and character development as well as academic advancement.  Student small groups, chapel services, prayer journaling, and mentoring relationships all assist the students in these areas.
